Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to animals in a veterinary clinic setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy, along with hands-on experience in animal care and restraint. This role is essential in supporting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries while ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing necessary instruments and equipment.
Provide proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals during treatments.
Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
Perform laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices, including nutrition and preventive health measures.
Assist with the care of hospitalized animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising as needed.
Experience
We will provide training
Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and basic veterinary procedures is appreciated
Familiarity with laboratory techniques related to veterinary medicine is highly desirable.
