What You’ll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work closely with our veterinarians and technicians to provide exceptional care to our patients. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting veterinarians and technicians with appointments and procedures
- Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
- Preparing exam rooms and maintaining a clean, organized hospital
- Taking and recording patient histories and vital signs
- Assisting with laboratory testing and sample collection
- Preparing patients for surgery and dental procedures
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Providing compassionate patient care and comfort
- Educating clients about basic preventative care
- Helping with kennel and patient care as needed
- Supporting the entire team wherever needed
We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate and genuinely loves working with animals
- Empathetic and kind toward both patients and their owners
- Dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn
- A positive team player with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to safely handle dogs and cats
- Detail-oriented and willing to take initiative
- Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
