Summary
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy team at St. John Animal Clinic. In this role, you will assist our veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our patients while ensuring an exceptional experience for pet owners. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the health and well-being of the animals we serve.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including kennels and examination rooms.
Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive health measures.
Manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and handling client inquiries.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Individual must help take clear accurate notes.
Requirements
Experience in a veterinary setting or related field is preferred.
Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and handling techniques.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
