Veterinary Assistant **Experience only
Richman Animal Clinic is looking for part-time to full time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are looking for candidates with prior veterinary experience that are motivated, talented and compassionate that are able work well in teams and individual settings. Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and great attitude are required. Our hospital is growing and looking to add talented assistants. We have digital radiography, in house Heska lab and cytology as well as Antech reference lab, laprascopy, ultrasound, therapy laser and much more. Competitive salary and benefits package offered. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Animal Care: Feeding, watering, .
Restraining Animals: Helping restrain animals during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Assisting with Medical Procedures: Helping with exams, surgeries, and other procedures, including preparing equipment and instruments.
Administering Medications: Administering medications and immunizations under the supervision of a veterinarian. (When/if trained and approved)
Cleaning and Disinfecting: Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, examination rooms, and surgical areas.
Medical Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of animal health, treatment, and medications.
Client Communication: Greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing information about pet care.
Basic Lab Procedures: Assisting with collecting samples for lab testing. Prep lab items for in house or to send out.
Maintaining Inventory: Ensuring that necessary supplies are stocked and maintained.
Sterilizing Equipment: Sterilizing instruments and equipment used in procedures.
*This position does include daily cleaning, picking up stool/urine etc. Laundry, detail cleaning and any other cleaning that may be needed for daily duties.
