Animal Eye Center is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Ophthalmology team.
This is a full-time position Monday-Friday.
Applicants must have at least 2 year previous veterinary related experience.
We are looking for individuals that are detailed-oriented, organized, motivated, committed, and self-directed. Applicants must have good communication skills, basic computer knowledge and a positive professional can-do attitude. They must be reliable, dependable and flexible.
The candidate must be able to prioritize and complete tasks with accuracy and have a desire to learn and work as a team member.
We are seeking individuals who want to learn new skill sets and gain new knowledge about ophthalmology. You will be working with companion animals, pocket pets, exotics and wildlife patients. Our top priority is providing the best quality care of for all our patients and their owners.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance. Ability to stand for long periods of time during the shift.
Job Duties Include (but not limited to)
Assisting Doctors and Veterinary Technicians during exams and procedures.
Surgical instrument cleaning and pack preparation.
Patient care including administration of medications.
Restocking supplies and medications.
Laundry and housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, etc.)
