Veterinary Specialty Center is hiring a full time Veterinary Assistant/Sterilization Tech to join our team! The ideal candidate will be experienced in animal care and have a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and anatomy. As a Veterinary Assistant/Sterilization Tech, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and technicians in providing high-quality medical care to our furry patients. Responsibilities:
– Clean surgical instruments using surgical sterilization techniques.
– Prepare surgical packs and PPE (gloves, gowns, drapes and masks) for sterilization.
– Properly set up and run sterilization equipment – gas sterilizer and autoclave
– Decontaminating and cleaning operating rooms, sterile supply room and equipment daily and after surgical procedures
– Maintain proper stock of surgical supplies in pack area and surgical suites
– Prepare instruments and operating room for surgery.
– And serving as a resource/reference to surgical team with regards to surgical equipment, among others.
Qualifications:
– Previous experience as a veterinary assistant.
– Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
