Who We’re Looking For

We are currently looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience, and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member.

A veterinary assistant assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians in various tasks, including animal handling, cleaning and maintenance, and some administrative duties. While not as technically skilled as technicians, they provide essential support in a veterinary clinic, focusing on direct animal care and some administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities of a veterinary assistant include:

Animal care:

Feeding, watering, bathing, and grooming animals; assisting with restraint and handling during procedures; and monitoring post-operative care.

Cleaning and maintenance:

Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, and exam rooms; sterilizing instruments and equipment; and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Administrative tasks:

Scheduling appointments, answering phones, greeting clients, and managing paperwork.

Direct patient care:

Assisting with medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and preparing samples for laboratory examination.

Client education:

Explaining procedures, medications, and follow-up care to pet owners.
