Veterinary Assistant
Job Description
We are looking for passionate and focused a veterinary assistant to join our team at Sunset Veterinary Hospital. The ideal candidate is someone who has a positive attitude, and enjoys learning new skills while working as a team.

Responsibilities
Assisting veterinarians in performing procedures and surgeries on patients, including anesthetic monitoring.
Administering Vaccinations, medications, and other treatments prescribed by veterinarians.
Collecting samples and running diagnostic tests such as x-rays, bloodwork, and cytology.
Recording and maintaining detailed, accurate medical records for each animal patient.
Providing compassionate care to patients and monitoring their wellness before, during, and after medical procedures.
Educating Clients about animal health, care and welfare.
Monitoring inventory levels and equipment malfunctions and reporting them to management.
Keeping workstations clean and stocked.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements
Lifting up to 40 pounds.
Spending most of the shift standing, kneeling, or bent over for procedures. Tolerating unpleasant and strong odors and sounds.

Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
