Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Assistant at Gandy Animal Hospital, you’ll play a crucial role in the daily support of our team, helping provide exceptional patient and client care across every department.
Responsibilities:
* Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care, treatment, and diagnostic procedures.
* Monitor and care for hospitalized pets and aid in their recovery after surgery.
* Restrain animals for exams, blood draws, and nail trims.
* Assist with radiographs, in-house lab work, and basic diagnostics.
* Maintain surgical instruments and ensure exam and treatment areas are clean and sanitized.
* Administer medications under veterinary or technician supervision.
* Provide excellent customer service, answer client inquiries, and support clients with pet care guidance.
* Help with feeding, bathing, and maintaining a comforting environment for all animals in our care.
* Manage inventory and ensure proper stocking of supplies.
Qualifications:
* Minimum age: 18 years
* Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work collaboratively within a
team environment
.
* A true animal enthusiast who can remain calm and professional with stressed, ill, or injured pets.
* Previous experience (1+ years) in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
* Physically able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and comfortable standing or walking for extended periods.
* Experience working within a
team-oriented
hospital setting.
