We are a privately owned hospital just off the freeway in Danville. Opened July 2024
Seeking a dedicated RVT or Veterinary Assistant to join our animal care team and create the foundation for great work culture and work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and provide support to our veterinary staff in delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures
– Maintain cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment
– Provide basic animal care, including administering medications, vaccinations etc
– Anesthetic monitoring and record keeping
– Communicate with pet owners on proper animal care practices.
Skills:
– Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a related role and understanding the animal behavior that comes with this field.
– Proficient in technical skills such as phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, surgical assistance and monitoring, anesthesia, dentistry and in-patient care.
– Knowledge of aseptic techniques for maintaining cleanliness
– Maintain accurate medical records in a timely manner
