Parkway Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are a full-service veterinary hospital serving primarily dogs and cats in the Folsom area. If you have a passion for animals and providing excellent care, we’d love to hear from you.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a veterinary setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Genuine interest in working with animals
- Ability to remain calm, efficient, and focused during busy periods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and provide excellent customer service both in person and over the phone
- Answer client questions regarding preventive care and medications
- Prepare exam rooms for appointments
- Assist veterinarians and technicians in the treatment area as needed
- Present and explain treatment estimates to clients clearly and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hospital throughout the day and by close of business
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as placing intravenous (IV) catheters
- Flexibility to work both front desk and treatment areas when needed
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly wage: $17–$18/hr, based on experience
