Description
Neel Veterinary Hospital is hiring full-time veterinary assistants to join our team. We seek individuals with veterinary care experience who are eager to learn, work well in a team, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize patient care. Our 24-hour hospital handles a diverse caseload, including exotic patients, within our general practice department.
Daily Responsibilities
Handling and restraining patients
Administering medication and filling prescriptions
Assisting team members and veterinarians as needed
Performing venipuncture and administering drugs (IV, SQ, oral)
Assisting with radiographic procedures
Conducting diagnostic blood, urine, and fecal tests
Admitting and discharging patients
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred at least 1 year of veterinary experience, especially in emergency medicine
Proficient in triage and multitasking in stressful situations
Effective communicator with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and staff (and comfortable talking to animals!)
Able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Willing to work in environments with exposure to infectious or contagious diseases

Our team includes experienced DVMs, specialists, interns, and support staff. Facilities include nine exam rooms, a double surgery suite, in-house lab, ultrasound, radiology, 24/7 ICU, and Oklahoma’s only pet-specific Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber.
