Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and energetic Veterinary Assistant to join our clinical team. You will work directly with our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to handle daily patient care, maintain a clean hospital environment, and ensure a low-stress visit for every pet.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Handling: Safely restrain animals during physical exams, blood draws, and medical procedures. Monitor hospitalized or boarding animals, providing food, water, and exercise.
- Clinic Sanitation: Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, cages, and surgical suites between appointments. Sterilize surgical tools and medical equipment.
- Medical Support: Assist with collecting and labeling lab samples (blood, urine, feces). Prepare medications and restock exam rooms.
- Client Service: Greet clients, answer basic inquiries, and help communicate post-procedure care instructions under staff direction.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous animal care or customer service experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate!)
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Compassionate demeanor and strong team-first communication skills
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
