Overview
We are a high-volume spay and neuter clinic in Springfield, TN. We know that high-volume clinics are not incredibly common and do not require that you have experience in one. We do require that you are a fast learner and dedicated to your job and community.
Animal handling skills are a plus, but can be taught.
Past experience in the medical or veterinary field is a plus, but not required.
Must be able to work Mon-Thurs beginning at 655am. Generally our day ends between 430pm-5pm, but can run longer on occasion.
Ability to multitask and think quickly on your feet.
Very fast paced environment with multiple things happening at once.
Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop and lift up to 50lbs.
Good communications skills. Must be able to communicate well with coworkers as well as the public.
Able to grasp surgical concepts and recovery concepts.
Must be able to explain recovery process and instructions to owners in a professional, yet simple manner.
Basic math skills.
Must work well without constant supervision.
This position involves A LOT of cleaning. We are a surgical center and cleanliness is extremely important.
Must be able to handle various unpleasant smells and messes. We work with animals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The offices and operations of a high volume spay/neuter clinic can be high stress and very busy at times. We are a close knit, small group. dedicated to our jobs and community. Our working environment requires us to work is very close proximity with each other at times.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
655am-clock in and begin morning setup
715am-830am-morning intake which consists of bringing 35-40 animals into the building, ensuring carriers are labeled correctly, weighing dogs, veryifing paperwork, etc. etc.
830am-surgical prep begins with a goal to have the first surgery started by 9am
9am-2pm-surgical prep, monitoring the recovery area, assisting the veterinarian in surgery, etc.etc.
3pm-discharge begins and afternoon cleaning begins
