We’re looking for a caring, dependable Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team and help us deliver an exceptional experience for every patient and pet parent who walks through our doors.
About the Role
As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide hands-on patient care, support daily hospital operations, and help create a calm, welcoming environment for pets and their owners. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about animal care who wants to grow their skills in a supportive clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Restrain and comfort animals during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, vaccinations, and minor procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites; clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery
- Collect samples (blood, urine, fecal) and assist with basic lab work
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Keep kennels, exam rooms, and treatment areas clean and sanitized
- Help with patient intake, discharge instructions, and client communication
- Support front-desk and phone coverage as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or related animal care setting preferred (not required)
- Genuine love for animals and comfort handling dogs and cats of all temperaments
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift 30+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and assist with restraining animals
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Veterinary Assistant certification a plus, but not required

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
