*Job Overview*

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. This position requires hands-on experience with various animal species and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

The base hourly range for this position is $20.00 – 22.00. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

*Responsibilities*

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including animal catheterization and administering medications.

Provide high-quality pet care, ensuring the comfort and safety of all animals in the clinic.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including laboratory areas and examination rooms.

Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners.

Support animal husbandry practices by monitoring the health and behavior of animals.

Prepare animals for surgery and assist in post-operative care.

Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatments, and medications administered.

*Requirements*

Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.

Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal care, and basic laboratory procedures is highly desirable.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in various situations.

A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
