What You’ll Do as a Veterinary Assistant
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will be competent with obtaining history, patient restraint, running in-house labs, radiography, etc. Surgical and Dental experience are a plus. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Obtain patient history and vitals
Patient restraint for procedures
Perform laboratory procedures including hematology, serology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and skin/ear cytology
Perform or assist with diagnostic testing/radiography
Provide comprehensive client education in person and on the phone
Assist in surgery.
Successful Candidate Requirements
Previous Veterinary experience.
Must be motivated, reliable, organized, and adaptable to changes.
Committed to learning and practicing Low-stress techniques.
Must be able to communicate well with clients by showing care and concern for them as well as their pet(s).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, function independently, and contribute to the success of the team in a face-paced environment.
Ezyvet software experience is preferred (can substitute experience with other veterinary management software).
