Job Overview
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team of excellent care givers. We recently expanded our hospital and are in need of a compassionate, dedicated and motivated self starter to assist with client and patient care. We are a busy AAHA accredited Veterinary Hospital. We are also Cat Friendly Certified and our doctors are Fear Free/Low stress certified. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with being a team player and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to our patients while ensuring a positive experience for clients.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
Provide animal care/husbandry. Including; feeding, bathing, and exercising of hospitalized and boarding patients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas and examination rooms.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
Handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating knowledge of animal behavior.
Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and performing basic laboratory procedures.
Support front desk operations by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records as needed.
Skills
Experience in a veterinary clinic setting is required.
Strong organization and ability to multitask
Knowledge of medication administration protocols and animal husbandry practices.
Understanding of animal anatomy to assist in examinations and treatments.
Proficiency in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
Ability to perform laboratory tasks accurately and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
Aseptic technique knowledge to maintain sterile environments during procedures.

Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
