We are looking for a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team who will be responsible for providing excellent medical care to pets, great customer service to clients, and mindful completion of administrative duties. The successful candidate will be compassionate to both pets and the people who love them, hardworking and efficient and able to build relationships via trust and respect.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with both pets and their owners.
Administer routine examinations, tests, and vaccinations to pets.
Recognize potential animal health problems and refer them to a veterinarian.
Clean work area and sanitize food prep areas.
Dispose of biohazardous waste properly.
Take care of animals in the kennel while they remain in the hospital.
Enter medical data in company databases.
Test patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and other vital signs.
Collect blood samples for laboratory testing.
Qualifications
Proven veterinary experience and animal handling skills
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and pet care practices
Ability to perform blood sampling and medication administration
Familiarity with animal husbandry and veterinary critical care
Experience in a veterinary clinic setting, including front desk operations
Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $14.35 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
