Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet clients and their pets with a welcoming attitude
Answer phones and schedule appointments
Process patient check-ins and check-outs
Handle billing, insurance claims, and payments
Maintain client records and ensure accurate data entry
Handle client inquiries and provide information about services
Assist veterinarians with surgeries, procedures, and examinations
Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures
Collect samples for lab testing (blood, urine, feces, etc.)
Provide patient care, including administering medications and vaccines
Prepare and maintain medical records for each patient
Educate pet owners on health maintenance, preventive care, and treatments
Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic (preferred)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Compassionate, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude
Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment
Assist with managing inventory and ordering supplies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
