Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques.
- Perform animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any changes to the veterinary staff.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Provide basic grooming services, including, nail trimming, and ear cleaning.
- Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology.
- Educate pet owners on animal husbandry practices and post-operative care.
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility by performing routine cleaning tasks.
Experience
Candidates should possess skills in veterinary critical care, animal physiology, dental terminology, intravenous catheterization, and have familiarity with veterinary terminology. A background as a veterinary assistant or professional animal care setting is mandatory. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, enjoyment in working as a teammate and a genuine love for animals are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
