We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-notch patient care.
Job Summary:
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, client communication, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. This position requires a passion for animal care, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
Prepare exam rooms and equipment before and after appointments
Monitor and provide basic care for hospitalized patients
Assist with diagnostic procedures such as blood draws and radiographs
Educate clients on general pet care, nutrition, and preventive medicine
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hospital, including kennels and treatment areas
Stock and prepare supplies for daily operations
Process lab samples and assist with record-keeping
Support front desk staff with scheduling and client interactions as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required
Strong animal handling skills and a love for working with pets
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
