Our clinic specializes in dog and cat wellness and prevention, surgeries, reproduction, chiropractic techniques, laser therapy and more. We have lab technology on site that allows us to see test results quickly and make health decisions/treatments based on those results.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of veterinary procedures and protocols. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing high-quality animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in animal handling, medical support, and client communication will contribute significantly to the well-being of our patients and satisfaction of pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during medical examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing animal restraint.
- Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring health status to ensure optimal pet care.
- Support laboratory testing procedures by collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with safety standards.
- Manage kennel operations by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behavior, and ensuring proper housing conditions.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records using veterinary software, and communicating with clients regarding pet care instructions.
- Assist with drug administration following DEA regulations and USDA guidelines while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Support front desk operations by providing excellent customer service, answering client inquiries, and facilitating effective communication between clients and veterinary staff.
- Contribute to veterinary critical care efforts through animal catheterization, administering medications, and assisting in emergency situations as needed.
Experience and Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter setting is not required but preferred.
- Enjoys working with animals and can handle working with animals who may be stressed.
- Can work in a team environment.

Pay: $15.00 – $16.50 per hour
