Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a veterinary clinic, ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Perform animal restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
Assist with animal catheterization and other medical procedures as needed.
Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection.
Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
Keep accurate records of patient information, treatments, and medications administered.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices.
Skills
Proficiency in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the clinic.
Knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in examinations and treatments.
Experience with animal catheterization is a plus.
Familiarity with equine care is beneficial for handling large animals.
Strong understanding of kennel management practices for optimal animal welfare.
Ability to perform basic animal restraint techniques safely and effectively.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
A commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $12.00 – $14.00 per hour
