Veterinary Assistant
Badger Creek Vet Clinic is seeking a dependable, motivated, and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with both animals and people, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care and client service.
Position Responsibilities
The Veterinary Assistant will work closely with our veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. Responsibilities may include:
- Restraining and handling animals safely for examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians during appointments and procedures
- Preparing examination, treatment, and surgical areas
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining hospital equipment and patient areas
- Assisting with hospitalized patient care and monitoring
- Feeding, walking, and providing basic care for hospitalized or boarding patients
- Preparing supplies and equipment for procedures
- Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic procedures
- Collecting and preparing laboratory samples as directed
- Filling and preparing medications under appropriate supervision
- Maintaining accurate patient information and treatment records
- Restocking treatment areas and monitoring medical supplies
- Answering phones and assisting clients when needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional hospital environment
- Performing other duties necessary to support the veterinary team
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary or animal-handling experience is required
- Comfortable working with dogs, cats, and potentially large-animal patients
- Ability to safely lift and restrain animals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, punctual, and organized
- Ability to follow directions and established medical protocols
- Willingness to learn new skills and accept constructive feedback
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly
- Compassionate and professional when interacting with clients and their animals

Schedule
This position may include weekday shifts and occasional extended hours depending on patient and hospital needs. Our regular clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits and employee veterinary-service discounts may be available based on employment status.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
