Intermountain Pet Hospital of Nampa is located in Nampa, Idaho. Intermountain Pet Hospitals have four locations around Boise and have been serving the community for over 50 years. We moved into our Nampa location in 2003 and are a fully-equipped hospital with four doctors on staff.

We are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs, cats, exotics, and pockets pets and offer services such as routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Overview:
We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing hospital. We are a full-service veterinary hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive wellness, medical, surgical, and urgent care for both feline and canine companions. Responsibilities / Qualifications:

Position Skills:

Assist DVMs with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient’s condition to DVM
High quality and professional client communication and education when obtaining medical histories, patient updates and questions
Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as hematology, fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
Diagnostic imaging while following safety protocols
Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
Nursing skills including: Administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring
Competently perform dental prophylaxis and digital radiographs
Position Requirements:
Must have minimum of 2 years veterinary technician experience to include anesthesia monitoring, surgery, and dental prophy.
Pay is based on CVT / LVT licensure and/or years of experience.
High School diploma or GED certificate
Flexible schedule including some Saturdays, evening – urgent care shifts and some holiday shifts
Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay range of $12.35-$20.90/hour based on experience
