We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide high-quality care for animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, caring for animals, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both pets and staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and a strong desire to support veterinary professionals in delivering exceptional care.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Front desk duties including answering phones, scheduling appointments and delivering a high quality of customer service
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort during their stay.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including animal housing areas and treatment rooms.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passion for animal care and welfare is essential.
- Willingness to learn
Schedule
- Shifts 7:45am-3:45pm and 2pm-close. *Flexibility in schedule preferred
- No weekends!!!
