Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the comfort of our animal patients. We have three thriving Veterinary clinic’s: Aurora Veterinary Clinic, Mantua Veterinary Clinic and Streetsboro Veterinary Center all located in a 15 minute distance from each location.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures.
Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or veterinary technician.
Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and equipment.
Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary staff.
Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment plans for their animals.
Assist with laboratory tests, including collecting samples for analysis.
Support the front desk staff with scheduling appointments and managing client communications.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and handling techniques.
Familiarity with medication administration and aseptic techniques is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
A compassionate attitude towards animals and their well-being is essential.
Certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus but not required.
