Hannah Creek is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of an experienced veterinary assistant. The duties include (but not limited to):
· Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
· Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
· Obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient’s condition to DVM
· Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, bloodwork and ear cytology
· Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
· High quality client communication on patient updates and questions
Qualifications
· High School diploma or GED certificate
· Flexible schedule
· Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
· Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Minimum of 1 year experience in clinical setting
