Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
Out hospital offers high quality, transparent care for our patients and clients. As an assistant, you’ll serve as a critical bridge for patient care and client communication.
Job Duties include:
Assist doctors and techs with all aspects of patient care and handling
Maintain hospital standards and cleanliness
Client communication
Ability to pay close attention to detail and provide accurate information to staff and clients
Demonstrates warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all client interactions
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure
Assess urgency and severity of cases, effectively prioritizing incoming requests based on criticality
Ability to frequently lift, move and handle patients.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, lift, push, pull, etc..
Complete diagnostic procedures as needed
Required Skills:
Compassion for animals and people
Eagerness to learn
Strong communication (written and oral) and organization skills
Flexibility to work in shifts that may include evening, weekend and holidays.
Proficiency in using computer systems and familiarity with basic office software
Punctual and reliable
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Critical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
Financial representation- Creating and discussing treatment plans
The Ideal candidate:
Experienced working with animals
Eager to learn and grow skill set
Veterinary assistant experience preferred, not required
