Responsibilities
- Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, animal catheterization, and surgical assistance
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and equipment through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices
- Help with record keeping by accurately documenting patient information, treatments, medications, and procedures using veterinary terminology
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, follow-up appointments, and general inquiries to foster trust and clarity
- Support animal husbandry activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness
- Assist in emergency situations by providing critical care support under supervision in veterinary critical care settings
Qualifications
- Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques for dogs, cats, and equines is preferred
- Experience with surgery preparation, medication administration, IV insertion, and animal catheterization is a plus
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, record keeping protocols, and animal physiology enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
- Commitment to animal welfare through compassionate care and adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) use

Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
