Veterinary Assistant Jobs in Saltville, VA at Saltville Animal Clinic
Seeking a responsible, motivated individual for part-time vet assistant duties at a small animal vet clinic. May well move to full-time in the future. EXPERIENCE IN A VET CLINIC SETTING STRONGLY PREFERRED. This person would assist the veterinarian with the following:
1. Putting clients and pets in exam rooms and getting histories
2. Pulling up vaccines, medications
3. Adding items into our computer software for each appointment
4. Assisting with surgeries, including prepping, monitoring, and waking up patients
5. Light cleaning duties, including keeping areas of clinic tidy, laundry, cleaning cages, prepping surgery packs, etc.
6. Administering medications to patients
7. Going over discharge instructions with clients after surgeries and wellness visits
8. Assisting with animal restraint for blood draws, vaccines, nail trims, etc.
We are really looking for a team player and a self-motivated worker! For the part-time position, no benefits would be available, but upon the potential transition to full-time, benefits would be explored.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 – $14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
