Veterinary Assistant Position Overview
Responsibilities Include:
Takes vital signs and history for exams
Creates and presents estimates to clients
Safely restrains cats and dogs for exams, diagnostics, and treatments
Takes radiographs with proper positioning and technique
Prepares and submits laboratory samples
Draws up and administers vaccines, SQ or IM injections, and SQ fluids
Performs ear cleaning and medicating, nail trims, anal gland expression
Prints prescription labels and fills medications
Assists in surgery and treatment areas
Successful candidates will have:
Experience working as a veterinary assistant (background in emergency/referral or specialty practices is a plus)
Ability to maintain positive and cooperative relationships with team members
Stress management skills in a busy, fast-paced team atmosphere
Interest in pursuing individualized professional goals
Compensation & Benefits
$20.76-30.00/Hour
(depending on experience and job-leveling)

Paid Time Off (PTO) – three weeks equal to hours worked per week, based on job classification
Observed paid holidays if it falls on your normally scheduled shift. (New Year’s Day [Jan 1], Memorial Day, Juneteenth [June 19], Independence Day [July 4], Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas [December 25]).
