Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the care of animals. Your passion for animal welfare and your ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial as you assist with various tasks related to animal care and clinic operations.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Perform animal restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels, examination rooms, and laboratory areas.
Handle laboratory samples while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Provide front desk support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices and post-operative instructions.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Qualifications
Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy is essential for effective patient care.
Experience in dog and cat handling and animal restraint techniques is required.
Familiarity with veterinary practices.
Previous experience in a kennel or veterinary setting is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
