Full Job Description
The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery, the first surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in New York City, is seeking to further build our clinical team with a compassionate, full time, Veterinary Assistant with an intellectual curiosity and a thirst for knowledge.
We are a collaborative team of passionate veterinary professionals, practicing in a clinician-designed, 10,000 square foot facility, having launched in July 2023. The practice of modern medicine in a state of the art and highly personalized environment is the primary goal for our patients and clients.

What We Offer:
$19 – $26/hr. This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role. The proposed salary will be dependent on the candidate’s skills, experience, and competencies.
4 day workweek

Continuing Education:

What You’ll Do:
Ensure patients are comfortable at all times
Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages, and runs
Keep the hospital clean and sanitary
Follow specific clinical instructions from Vet Techs
Sterilize the surgical suite and surgical equipment
Restocking
Walking dogs to relief room
Table turnover
What We’re Looking For:
At least 1 year of experience as a clinical Veterinary Assistant
Four day workweek
Confident restraint skills and basic hospital knowledge
ICU and surgical experience a plus
Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills
The ability to handle multiple tasks
Someone who loves to learn and acquire new skills
A willingness to take initiative
A candidate with the ability to quickly pivot and assist where needed
