Veterinary Assistant Jobs in Fort Lauderdale, FL at Fort Lauderdale Vet Center
We are a busy, fast-paced, ever growing veterinary hospital. We are looking for a dependable, motivated, hard-working individual. Must LOVE animals and have reliable transportation. We are a small, privately owned business; general practice for dogs & cats and general health exams & grooming for birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, etc. The candidate does not need previous experience; we are willing to train the right person. Must be available to work during weekends & holidays to assist with kennel and other duties.
ALL staff MUST be vaccinated for COVID, boosters are optional, but highly recommended.
1st interview is a meet-and-greet; tour of facility
2nd interview is a working interview
$1 raise will be awarded after 3 month probation period; 401k is offered after 1 year of employment (must be 21 years of age or older to be eligible)
Hours for Open Position:
Monday/Thursday: 8am-6pm
Wednesday/Saturday: 8am-1pm
Kennel as needed
Duties include, but not limited to:
answering phones
scheduling & reconfirming appointments
holding animals during examinations & medical procedures
explaining medications & procedures to clients
walk, feed, bath boarders
assist in giving medications & injections if skill is adequate
in house bloodwork, radiographs, & fecal float
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
