Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at Value Pet Vet. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a veterinary technician and be comfortable working with both dogs and cats. Certified/Licensed Technicians are preferred.
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians with surgical preparations, including surgical prep and post-operative care. We focus on high volume spay/neuters, wellness, illness and regular private practice care such as dentals, soft tissue surgeries, xrays, ultrasound and more. State of the Art facility. Additionally, you will be responsible for tasks such as restraint, blood draws, vaccine administration, and maintaining detailed medical records. Please do not apply if you can not perform high level tech skills. Environment is fast paced and require multi tasking but extreme accuracy.
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians with surgical preparations, including surgical prep and post-operative care.
– Perform blood draws, vaccine administration, and other medical procedures as directed by veterinarians.
– Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
– Provide compassionate care to patients and their owners.
– Educate clients on preventative care, medications, and treatment plans. You will be asked to be present in exam room with veterinarian at times and assist with multiple tasks.
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and treatment areas.
– Collaborate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Requirements:
– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a veterinary technician.
– Comfortable working with both dogs and cats.
– Proficient in surgical prep, blood draws, vaccine administration, and other medical procedures.
– Knowledgeable about vaccines, surgical procedures, and preventatives.
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
– Must be available to work in both Norwalk, CT and Monroe, CT locations.
– Flexibility to work Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm and two Saturdays a month from 9:15 am to 2 pm.
-This is NOT a clerical position. But you will be cross trained in reception and asked to assist with cleaning duties.
