We are seeking a fun, joyful, dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, a passion for animal welfare and have a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and equipment.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring proper dosages and methods.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Perform routine laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
Provide basic animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals.
Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure cleanliness in the clinic environment.
Restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments to minimize stress and injury.
Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Requirements
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is essential.
Familiarity with medication administration protocols and veterinary critical care practices is preferred.
Experience in animal restraint techniques and laboratory procedures is a plus.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is required.
Previous experience in a veterinary setting or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
