Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in both clinical and laboratory settings. This role involves providing high-quality medical care to small animals, while ensuring their comfort and well-being. The Veterinarian will work closely with pet owners, veterinary technicians, and other staff members to deliver exceptional veterinary services.
Sandy Animal Clinic is a fully functional Veterinary Hospital with in-house diagnostics, laser therapy, laser surgery, 3 dental stations with digital dental x-ray, a separate surgery suite, multiple exam rooms and a digital radiology suite. We are located in Salt Lake County and network closely with multiple referral hospitals as needed.
The services provided to our clients include surgery, health and wellness, vaccinations, along with client education. Our staff is committed to providing excellent service to our clients.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
Develop treatment plans for various health issues, including administering vaccinations, medications, and performing surgeries as needed.
Provide emergency veterinary care and critical care management for animals in distress.
Perform laboratory tests and interpret results to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care practices.
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated in accordance with legal requirements.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians to ensure the highest standards of animal care are met.
Handle animals safely and effectively during examinations and procedures.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of employment.
Experience or knowledge in small animal medicine.
Strong skills in animal handling.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $135,456.00 – $149,693.00 per year
