Conveniently located in the heart of Norfolk, Dog & Cat Hospital has been a staple of the Hampton Roads community for nearly 85 years. We are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats, including teeth cleaning, surgeries, pet boarding, routine medical care, urgent care, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and in-house diagnostics. Overview
The Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients and developing rapport with owners. Responsibilities include physical examinations, surgeries, dentistry, client communication, and education. Treat each pet and client like family.
Up to $40k Sign-On Bonus available for eligible experienced DVMs!
Description
Develop rapport with clients, perform physical exams, and carry out diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures with care to minimize stress.
Explain findings, diagnose problems, and present treatment plans; educate clients on preventative care.
Maintain accurate medical and surgical records, assist in follow-up and management.
Stay updated with new medical information, attend CE meetings.
Help develop the paraprofessional team and represent the hospital professionally.
Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.
Requirements
DVM degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing in the state of application.
Excellent interpersonal skills, professional appearance, positive attitude.
Effective decision-making and communication skills.
Respectful and compassionate team player.
Commitment to high standards and veterinary ethics.
Surgical proficiency is a plus.
