Since 1935, the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society (MACS) has been a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding all community members in caring for their animals. MACS offers comprehensive sheltering, veterinary care, and pet adoption services. We assist individuals who need to surrender their pets or who face financial constraints but want to keep their pets. Our Veterinary Clinic provides preventative care, spay/neuter procedures, radiographs, and bloodwork. We are committed to helping as many community members as possible and providing them with necessary resources.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Veterinarian, located in the United States. The Veterinarian will be responsible for providing medical care to animals, including preventative care, surgical procedures, diagnostics, and treatment. Daily tasks include conducting examinations, performing spay and neuter surgeries, interpreting diagnostic tests such as radiographs and bloodwork, and managing patient records. The Veterinarian will also engage with pet owners to offer guidance and support regarding pet health and wellness.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school and a valid veterinary license in the state of Michigan or eligibility to obtain one
Experience in performing spay/neuter surgeries and other routine surgical procedures
Proficiency in diagnostic tests, including radiographs and bloodwork, and interpretation of results
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and the team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing patient records and treatment plans
Compassion and dedication to animal welfare and community service
Experience in a shelter or non-profit setting is a plus
