Overview
We are seeking a part-time dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our 2 doctor mixed animal practice in our newly constructed animal hospital. The position is for 2 Saturdays a month with potential to gain additional hours. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and provide high-quality veterinary care to a diverse range of animals. The Veterinarian will work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals in a supportive and friendly environment. New Graduates and Relief Vets welcome!
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues.
Develop treatment plans and administer appropriate medications or therapies
Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and pet owners.
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, including treatment histories and vaccination schedules.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care practices.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of employment.
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology.
Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and diagnostics related to veterinary medicine.
Ability to perform animal catheterization and other technical procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate pet owners effectively.
A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners is essential.
