The Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients and developing rapport with their owners. Responsibilities include physical examinations, surgeries, dentistry, and client communication and education. It’s essential that SVP Veterinarians treat each pet and client like family.
Description
Develop rapport with clients, determine their needs, perform physical exams, and carry out diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures to deliver top care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain examination findings, communicate diagnoses, generate and present treatment plans, and educate clients on preventative health, vaccines, and nutrition.
Maintain accurate medical and surgical records, assist colleagues with follow-up and patient management.
Stay current with veterinary medical advancements by attending Continuing Education meetings.
Contribute to developing the paraprofessional team to ensure high-quality care and exceptional client service.
Represent the hospital professionally within the community and to the public.
Treat every client like family and each pet like your own.
Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
Valid licensure to practice in the applicable state.
Professional appearance and demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude.
Effective decision-making and communication skills.
Respect and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
Compassionate team player committed to upholding veterinary ethics and standards.
Surgical proficiency is a plus.
