Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a vital member of our veterinary practice, you will provide exceptional care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. Your expertise in animal care and technical skills will contribute to the well-being of our patients and ensure a positive experience for pet owners.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff.
Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the veterinarian.
Provide education to pet owners on animal husbandry, care, and training techniques.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Assist with the care of equine patients when necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Document patient records accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
Qualifications
Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited institution is preferred.
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology is essential.
Experience in animal care or veterinary settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques is a plus.
Skills in dog training or behavioral management are advantageous.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate pet owners and collaborate with team members.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately under various circumstances.
