Full time veterinary technician needed for a fast-paced 3-4 doctor AAHA accredited hospital in Shelton, CT. 1-2 years of veterinary surgical/dental experience is preferred to be considered for this position. Some of the responsibilities include patient care and preparation for surgical procedures, surgical assisting, anesthetic induction and monitoring, radiography, dental prophylaxis and radiographs, phlebotomy, in-house lab work, and IV catheter placement. Technicians must also be experienced in animal restraint, administering medications, vaccine preparation, performing SQ/IM/IV injections, nail trims, anal gland expression, preparing and evaluating ear cytology samples, obtaining blood pressure measurements, filling prescriptions, computer invoicing, obtaining patient histories, proficient in client education, etc. Cornerstone experience a plus.
