The Animal Care Technician plays a vital role in the care and management of animals within a boarding/daycare setting. This position involves a combination of hands-on animal care, administrative tasks, and general workplace duties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal care and behavior, as well as customer service skills. Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians and monitor animal responses.
Maintain accurate records of services performed, feeding, and medications.
Support management and fellow team members.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of animal housing areas and equipment.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ needs and care instructions.
Create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for pets and their owners.
Qualifications
Previous experience in an animal care setting is preferred.
Knowledge of animal behavior, and basic care is essential.
Familiarity with front desk operations is an advantage.
Experience with dog grooming is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and pet owners.
A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their welfare.
