We are a small animal clinic practice in Miami area seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic VET ASSISTANT. We specialize in General Pet Care, General Surgeries, Dental Care, and other therapies!
Candidates for consideration must have some experience dealing with the public, be comfortable assisting doctors with surgery and dealing with pets. The ideal candidate should be fluent in English and Spanish and be available to mornings and part of the afternoon.
Hours:
Monday to Friday: 7 am to 3 pm
The proper candidate must be able to work closely with one or two veterinarians and a small staff with a great attitude and proper work ethics and etiquette.
Compensation starts at $16 hr – 18 hr. contingent on experience and skill level. We are looking for a long term, enthusiastic, knowledgeable team member that can help us to continue to grow and provide high standard and quality veterinary medical service to our local community.
Essential Functions:
· Provide compassionate care for pets
· Restrain pets for veterinarians and technicians
. Be able to explain procedures in both English and Spanish
· Assist in the taking of x-rays
· Monitor and collect urine and fecal samples as needed
· Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded pets
· Clean cages, runs, boarding area and/or hospital facilities, including exam rooms, treatment room and isolation area
· Provide clean bedding, water and litter pans for pets
· Feed hospitalized/boarded pets as needed
· Walk hospitalized patients using proper care and monitor urinations and defecations in Ezyvet
· Exercise hospitalized/boarded dogs as needed
· Take incoming pets to appropriate areas
· Prepare pets for dismissal
· Retrieve pets that are being discharged
· Re-stock ICU and Treatment areas with supplies and food
· Do laundry
· Wash and sanitize pet dishes
· Perform other duties as assigned
