We are seeking a compassionate and skilled veterinary assistant to join our team (part-time or full-time). If you have a passion for animal care and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with patient care, including restraining dogs and cats, administering medications, and preparing patients for surgery
- Take patient history, present estimates, and answer basic client questions (vaccines, preventatives, lab results)
- Support the veterinarian during exams, treatments, and surgeries
- Perform basic lab work, such as collecting and processing samples
- Monitor patients during recovery and alert the veterinarian of any concerns
- Bathe, walk, and provide basic care for pets
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Clean and organize the hospital to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have experience with animals
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (accommodations available for school or other responsibilities)
- Able to lift pets weighing up to 40 lbs
- Veterinary Assistant certification is a plus
