Role Description The Truck Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Islamabad. In this position, the dispatcher coordinates and schedules truck routes, assigns loads to drivers, and ensures timely pick-ups and deliveries. Daily responsibilities include monitoring vehicle locations, communicating with drivers and clients, resolving routing issues, and updating dispatch systems with accurate trip information. The role also involves maintaining records, handling customer inquiries related to shipments, and collaborating with operations and support teams to optimize fleet utilization and reduce delays. The dispatcher is expected to follow company procedures, adhere to safety standards, and provide clear, professional communication throughout each transport cycle.
Qualifications
- Strong coordination and organizational skills for managing multiple routes, drivers, and delivery timelines.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to work with dispatch software, mapping tools, and basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM or TMS systems).
- Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected delays, route changes, and customer requests under time pressure.
- Knowledge of transportation or logistics operations, including routing, scheduling, and basic regulatory or safety considerations.
- Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records, logs, and documentation related to trips, loads, and customer instructions.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts or extended hours when needed to support operational requirements.
- Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or fleet management is preferred but not required; relevant training or coursework is an advantage.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics, business, or a related field is a plus.
