The University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for the temporary position of Veterinary Assistant 2 in the Emergency & Critical Care service. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the veterinary technicians, clinicians, and students with patient care of hospitalized critically ill/injured, post-operative and infectious small animal patients. Attend to patient needs such as feeding appropriate diets, walking and husbandry.
Restrain patients for procedures knowing appropriate restraint techniques.
Stock supplies for efficient function of the unit.
Keep ICU and Emergency Triage rooms clean and organized using appropriate techniques for adequate infection control. Required to be on-call on a rotating basis and work some holidays.
